Declared The Bluebonnet Capital of Texas by the Texas Legislature, Burnet celebrates this distinction with a festival the second weekend of April. The event features a parade, live Texas and local music all weekend, a 5K and children's fun run, golf tournament, all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, dog-house race and wiener-dog races, a destruction derby, gunfighters shootout re-enactment, and a pet parade.
