This village west of Austin on U.S. 290 was established in 1870 and named for Confederate Gen. Stonewall Jackson. The town is famous for delicious Gillespie County peaches and the LBJ Ranch--home of the late President Lyndon B. Johnson. It is located along the Highway 290 Wine Trail.
The Peach JAMboree and Rodeo is the third weekend in June.
