The Central Texas village west of Austin on U.S. 290 (established in 1870) was named for Confederate Gen. Stonewall Jackson. The town is famed for delicious Gillespie County peaches and the LBJ Ranch, home of the late President Lyndon B. Johnson. Along the Highway 290 Wine Trail.
