The longest lighted street parade in South Texas rolls through downtown. Also enjoy shopping, food and drink booths in the bazaar. This year's theme is "A Cowboy Christmas." Batts Street at Sam Houston Boulevard.

This festival celebrates Texas Independence Day with three live re-enactments of battles leading up to the State's freedom from Mexico. Battles include the famous Battle of the Alamo, the Battle of San Jacinto and the Battle of Bexar with period attire. Also see people demonstrating old-time skills like baking pan de campo and making quilts, a barbecue cook-off, parade, declaration of independence signing ceremony, a 5K race, live music, raffles and beer garden.
