In the southeastern corner of Carson County, Groom was named for an early cattleman, B.B. Groom. The town site was laid out in 1903 near the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railroad. Be sure to visit the Blessed Mary Restaurant, the nonprofit eatery with only a jug for a cash register and where all proceeds are donated to charities. Located off I-40 on Exit 112.
