The 83rd annual Old Fiddlers Contest and Reunion is known nationwide and is thought to be the oldest continuously running contest of its kind. A jam session kicks off the event at 7 p.m. Friday. The Fiddlers Contest begins at 9 a.m. Saturday on the courthouse lawn and runs all day. Also enjoy a carnival, vendors and a street dance from 8 p.m.-midnight. Courthouse square, 100 W. Tyler St.
