Opened in the spring of 2003, the center offers scenic wetland trails and a bird's park set on 40 acres of wetlands adjacent to the 90-acre Edinburg municipal park. A nature tourism destination, the site has a trail and five bird observation platforms. The center is part of the Lower Coastal Birding Trail and is classified as a premier birding location in South Texas. Open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Mon.–Thu. and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Fri.–Sat.
