Step back in time 68,000 years ago, when mammoths and saber-toothed cats roamed what would become Texas. Discovered in 1978, the fossil site was closed to the public until a dig shelter was constructed and opened in 2010. A suspended walkway provides an overhead view of the mammoth bones.
