Early settler, Thomas Cree, planted a bois d'arc tree that thrived for years. After the tree was accidentally killed, Carson County residents planted a new one as a memorial to early pioneers. The site is marked by two state historical markers and by a medallion from the National Men's Garden Clubs of America.
On U.S. 60, about five miles southwest of the city.
